Recent Habitat Land Purchase in Georgetown to turn into more homes!

Check out the video of this land

A flurry of steps started the purchase of a lot on 21st Street in Georgetown.  This purchase would not have been possible without a generous and long-time supporter of Habitat who provided a low-cost loan to complete the purchase.  The first grant to help pay down the loan was made by the Georgetown Health Foundation.  We are so fortunate to have the lender and a local foundation believe in our vision for this property!  You can help pay for this land.

Habitat staff have met with several key community partners including an attorney to understand how building townhomes or multi-family housing could benefit future homeowners, City staff on building code and our vision to help as many families as possible, an architect on land use and house design, and back to the City on funding opportunities to prepare the land for home construction and to design the house plans.  All this has happened in the last 6 weeks!

We haven’t officially started fundraising for house construction yet, there are many steps to take before the first nail goes in!  However, if  someone wants to kickstart the construction fund campaign, talk to Nicole Vommaro or Debbie Hoffman.

“This will be an exciting journey for Habitat Williamson County for the next few years as we see this property transform into many homes filled with amazing families,”  Debbie Hoffman, Executive Director.
