Introducing Our Future Habitat Homeowner- Ashley Fordinal!

Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County would like to introduce Ashley Fordinal as one of our future Habitat Homeowners!

Originally from Dallas, Texas Ashley relocated to Williamson County in 2014 with her now 18 year old son, Cameron. Ashley graduated from Texas A&M with a B.A. in Communications and currently works as a communications coordinator in Austin. She was recently selected as a Habitat Homeowner for one of the single-family homes that will be built on Leander Street.

“Affordable home options were just not affordable here in Williamson County, even though I had a decent paying job. Habitat allows individuals to have a strong start to building generational wealth and I’m grateful to have been selected for their Homeownership program. ”

Joining the Habitat Family

When asked what her hopes were for her family and future Habitat home, she replied, “Security and stability, having a place to call home, where your  kids feel safe and eventually grandkids have a place to visit.”

To date, Ashley has been working on obtaining her sweat equity hours through various volunteer opportunities and completing her Habitat homeowner education courses.

Looking back at her volunteer experiences so far, she says, “I love that we aren’t just put into a home, but set up to succeed through educational classes that help us to understand and be prepared for homeownership.”

Both Ashley and her son are excited to move into their home in the near future and becoming a part of the Habitat family.

“You’re in an atmosphere with people who want to help you succeed. It’s been such a wonderful experience and having the opportunity to truly invest in our home is a blessing.”

In her free time, Ashley enjoys socializing with friends, listening to podcasts, volunteering, hiking, and watching movies with her son.
