In May of 2023, the Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County Home Repair Team completed some much-needed exterior and interior repairs on the Bartlett residence of Theria Davis. Projects included the replacement of a front and back porch, installing a new mini-split a/c unit, and repairing leaks in her roof.
“It was a good team that was put together to make a positive impact,” she stated.
Theria was born in Temple, TX as the youngest of seven children. She moved with her mother and siblings to Bartlett, TX as a child and when she was about 12 years old, her family moved again to Oklahoma.
After marrying, Theria moved several times with her (now ex-) husband, who was active-duty military at the time. She and her husband then returned to Bartlett two and a half years ago and opened their home to two children (ages 10 and 11) from the state of Texas, whom she will be caring for until they reach the age of 18.
Theria hoped to provide the quality life she felt these children truly deserve, thus motivating her to reach out to Habitat to help with repairs in her home. She has expressed how much this would improve the quality of life for her and these two young children.
“It’s been truly life-changing and a sheer blessing and I’m humbly grateful. My family has been blessed to be a part of Habitat.”
Theria runs her own cleaning business and is also actively involved her children’s school and in Neighbors Serving Neighbors. In her spare time, she enjoys sitting on her new porch to take in the peaceful scenery around her home, helping her neighbors (sometimes providing childcare for friends), and spending time with her four children and 10 grandchildren.
