“The soils in Taylor are a mixture of black clay and stone, which when it gets soaked can take take several days (with good weather) to dry and be workable again. We are also experiencing delays with our plumbing trade due to all the water breaks throughout the community from those snow and ice storms,” shares Patrick. The plumbing company is working as fast as they can to get back to us here at Habitat, but getting water back for some many who experienced damage is their priority at this time.
Once the plumbers get back to working on our build in Taylor, they get the main water line installed from city tap and then we will be ready to get the foundation ready to be poured. “If the weather cooperates, I expect to be able to pour the foundation in the next couple of weeks and then we will be able to start construction on the home at the beginning of April,” says Patrick.
