“Although my term is up for now, my heart and commitment to this organization will continue for years to come!”

When I moved to Texas in 2006 I wanted to be a professional volunteer.  Of course, life always seems to take paths that lead me to bigger and greater adventures.  I ended up being dared to become a Realtor and since it was a double dare, I took it.  During that course of my new career I was approached by a member of Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County to participate on their Board of Directors.  I had actually had the opportunity to work on some homes that were being built for some families in the Round Rock and Georgetown areas and thought it would be a great fit since I was really interested in how I could make an impact on the fast arising problem of affordable housing here in the greater Austin Area.  I have really enjoyed my experience participating with this amazing Christian organization.  Being a part of something that changes peoples’ lives in a way that they would not have been able to do on their own is the greatest gift I could ever receive.  I’ve had the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors as well as the Executive Board.  I have been able to work in the Habitat Restore, donate items, purchase items for myself, help build homes and participate in multiple fundraisers to help raise money for the homes we build.  I have been able to passionately use my time, talents and treasures to create appreciation events for our staff and volunteers as well as fundraising events.  The past 6 years have flown by and I have truly been blessed by my time spent with my fellow Board Members, volunteers, homeowners and of course the dedicated, staff that works countless hours to make sure all of these moving parts fit together to ensure that we continue to bring communities and people together to create and sustain home ownership in Williamson County.
