Travel with purpose in 2019

Habitat for Humanity works in over 80 countries around the world.  Volunteers from the United States can travel to many of these locations and build homes and maybe a smokeless stove in partnership with families in need of safe and decent housing.

Each Habitat for Humanity Global Village trip offers more than just the opportunity to swing a hammer. You will meet people with different backgrounds, races and religions.  And most importantly, you will do more than help build homes – you’ll become part of the local community and participate in cultural activities as well.  As a part of the team, you will develop construction skills, expand your language skills and perhaps learn a bit more about yourself and how you look at those in need of the basic need of adequate shelter.

Spending time with other cultures doesn’t mean just exploring the differences, but also discovering the commonalities. You’ll find that you don’t even need to speak the language to connect with those you encounter on the trip.  While the trip will last 9 days, your financial, emotional and physical contributions will be life-changing for both those in the communities where we work and in your own life for years to come.

Join a team of 12-14 people who will, work and play together with families in need of decent housing.  In September, HFHWC Executive Director Debbie Hoffman is leading a team to Trinidad and Tobago – Details. Contact Debbie Hoffman for more details and to see if one or both of the 2019 trips is for you!!
