When a house becomes a home for a family and that home is damaged or destroyed, there is a part of our hearts that is destroyed as well. But the homes and our hearts can be re-built and repaired.
Within the 53 Texas counties affected by Hurricane Harvey and its aftermath, 22 Habitat for Humanity affiliates have been impacted.
Additionally, families who have partnered with Habitat for Humanity have been directly impacted. While there will undoubtedly be opportunities for affiliates to send volunteer groups during the long recovery phase of this disaster, it would be premature to mobilize a volunteer group at this time. In coordination with Habitat Texas, we will notify the local community when group volunteer opportunities begin to emerge.

While the hurricane impact is the topic of most conversations today, we cannot forget that there are still families in dire situations living in communities across Williamson County including homes that were flooded in the 2015 Memorial Day Storms. Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County is partnering with the Williamson County Long Term Recovery Committee to completely re-build 2 such homes in Taylor.
